Spay/Neuter Oakland Pet Fund in partnership with the Oakland Pet Adoption Center operate a monthly low income spay/neuter clinic for cats.  Oakland County residents who are on a limited income are eligible for the program.  Only social, healthy cats between the ages of twelve (12) weeks to eight (8) years will be sterilized at no cost to the owners.   Rabies vaccinations, flea, ear mite meds, nail clipping also are provided for a minimum donation of $20 per cat along with worm deworming medication if needed.

In 2007 we performed 1,000 spay/neuter procedures.  In 2008 we are averaging 100 per month.

Medical Care – Through an application/grant program funding is provided for shelter and rescue animals to provide for medical care and treatment beyond the usual shots, check-ups, and medication. This funding is intended to cover the cost of surgery or treatments which can save an animal's life but would normally be beyond those that could be provided by a rescue or shelter.  This program is currently under development.

Low income/Senior/Disabled Support Program – The Low income Support Program provides funding and resources to individuals who can not afford medical treatment, pet food, etc and might need to surrender their animal due to these costs. This program is intended to assist individuals in keeping their companion animals.  This program is currently under development.
